PEPARNAS





Pekan National Paralympics or Weekend Paralimpik Indonesia (Peparnas) is a multi-sport competition that resembles the national sports week (PON) for athletes with disabilities in Indonesia. The difference in pounds and Peparnas lies in the Division of classes and technical match, where athletes are grouped based on his physical condition. Originally, Peparnas called the national Handicapped sports week (Porcanas), but the word ' disability ' is replaced with the word ' Paralympic Games ' as the development is happening in the organisation of the body of the constructor of the disabled Sports (BPOC) Indonesia.


 In Weekend National Paralympic Games XIV in Riau on 7-13 September 2012, there are 11 sports competition, namely: Athletics, Swimming, Volleyball, archery, Wheelchair Tennis, table tennis, badminton, Futsal, Bowling, chess and weight lifting with total medals contested reached 424 medals. Category type of disability that may be included are:  Tuna Netra, Tuna Daksha, Tuna Grahita, Deaf and speech impaired.


There are countless 13 Sport (cabor) with approximately 7000 athletes and 599 medals contested in the four-yearly event. As for the name of game, there are: Sitting Volleyball, chess, Goalball, football CP 5 slides, Wheelchair Tennis, table tennis, Tenpin Bowling, athletics, badminton, Judo, archery, Swimming, and weight lifting.
